In support of the Michael Wise Memorial Fund at Princess Margaret Hospital
Friday, September 23rd, Saturday, September 24th & Sunday, September 25th, 2005

The Toronto SCRABBLE® Club (National Scrabble Association Club #3) hosts its 26th annual tournament this fall, an open SCRABBLE® Brand Crossword Game tournament. The event will be codirected by John Chew and John Robertson, with help from Lynda Wise (catering), Tony Leah (supplies), Vivienne Muhling (billeting) and Craig Rowland (speed director).

New This Year

We thank outgoing codirectors Lisa Deift and Lisa Kessler for their past service and welcome John Robertson to our staff as codirector. John will be in charge of one of the two rooms for our main event, while John Chew will look after the other.

We will be offering a short lecture for the first time this year, early Saturday evening after the main games are over for the day and before the speed tournament begins. Canadian Champion Adam Logan will talk on the topic “When to Open Triple-Triples”.

At the request of players preparing for the World Championship, we will have a small SOWPODS division, to be rated in Bob Jackman’s international rating system. Net proceeds of that division will go to the “Canadian Scrabble Players Supporting Our World Team” fund.
